Weekend in Vegas

We interrupt this blog for a bit of self-promotion. On Sunday night (Feb. 25) CNN will air the first episode of Vegas: The Story of Sin City, a four-part documentary series inspired by my book Elvis in Vegas: How the King Reinvented the Vegas Show.

As an author watching his work get translated (and expanded) for television, I found the experience fascinating and rewarding. My input came mostly at the outset, helping to outline the series and connecting producer Stephen Morrison with several key people to interview (including yours truly). He carried the ball from there, along with the team from Bungalow Media + Entertainment.  

The finished product is something I am proud of, and I hope it will bring CNN a big audience. The timing, if nothing else, is opportune, as Vegas has been more in the news than ever — from last fall’s splashy opening of the immersive Sphere, to this month’s celebrity-packed Super Bowl.
